UNILAG Diploma admission details 2016

 University of Lagos foundation programme is diploma programme that runs within 9 months.The Programme admits candidates into all departments in various faculties.

Faculties available are Art,Law,Business Administration,Medicine,Science,Pharmacy,Social science,Engineering,Environmental Science and Education.

This programme is quite different from the normal UTME/JAMB entry.These are certain things about the programme that should be taken note of;

1. Forms are sold for TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND NAIRA (25,000 Naira) excluding bank charges.
2. Five subjects are written for the examination which are English,Mathematics, and 3 compulsory subjects for the applied course.
3. Number of questions for each subjects are 20 English,20 Mathematics and 15 questions each for the remaining 3 compulsory subjects which makes it 85 questions.Duration for the examination is one Hour for 85 Questions.
4. Calculator(sometimes non-scientific is allowed) or any electronic device is not allowed.
5. Successful admitted candidates are to pay Tuition fee of (non staff): 350,000 Naira and Acceptance Fee of 25,000 Naira.
6. Medicals: 7,500 Naira
   Jupeb exam fee: 25,000 Naira and
   I.D. card:350 Naira
7. The programme  does not provide accommodation for admitted candidate.
8. Lectures hold everyday but mostly Saturdays are for practicals,that is, Monday-Saturday are busy days.
9. Exams written within the 9 month programme are First incourse Assessment,First semester exam,second incourse exam,Mock JUPEB Examination and Final JUPEB Examination.
10. Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB) takes 70% of the total score while the remaining 30% is shared among the  First Incourse,first semester examination,Second Incourse and Mock exam.
11. Every foundation student writes 3 papers in Jupeb depending on the course
    offered.
12. The exam,Jupeb,has objectives,theories and practicals(for sciences and
    very few arts students).50 Objectives,8 Theories(answer 4) and 2 practicals.
13. A in a course is equivalent to 5 points,B is 4 points,C is 3 points,D is 2 points,E is 1 point and F is 0 point.If there was no Failure in any course the student automatically gets an additional 1 point making it over 16 Points for student with AAA=16 points.
14. Student must attain a minimum of 7 points before being consider for admission assuming he/she did not meet the course Jupeb cut off.
15. There is room for repetition of the Programme and with-drawer from the programme.
16. Students that merit the cut off for the applied course get a Direct entry to 200Level.
